Settings

Settings control how the Scanner, Queue, and other features behave. Configure default values for new scans, choose price sources, set up sound feedback, select export templates, and manage your account.

Scanner Defaults

Set default values applied to new scans:

  • Default game: The TCG/category (e.g., Magic, Pokémon) used when the API doesn't specify one
  • Default condition: NM, LP, MP, HP, or DM—applied to each new scan until you change it
  • Default language: English, Japanese, etc.
  • Default printing type: Normal, Foil, Etched, etc.—used when recognition doesn't specify

Price Source and Point Selection

Choose which price type to use when displaying and exporting prices:

  • Market: General market price
  • Low: Lowest available price
  • Mid: Mid/market midpoint
  • Direct Low: Direct low price from major platforms

The selected source is used across the Scanner, Queue, and Collections for value calculations.

Price Fallback Chain Configuration

When the primary price source has no data for a card, the app falls back to the next source in your chain. Configure the order in Settings:

  1. Open Settings → Price settings or fallback chain
  2. Drag or reorder sources (Market, Low, Mid, Direct Low, EU, CardTrader, Manapool, Card Kingdom, etc.)
  3. First available price from the chain is used

Currency Selection

Choose the currency for displayed and exported prices (e.g., USD, EUR, GBP). Prices from sources in other currencies may be converted based on your SortSwift account settings.

Sound Settings

Control scan feedback sounds:

  • Enable/disable: Turn sounds on or off globally
  • Volume: Adjust volume level
  • Sound selection: Beep, chirp, click, ding, cha-ching, coin, sparkle, bell

Price-Based Sound Triggers

Set custom sounds for specific price thresholds. For example:

  • Play "cha-ching" when a scanned card is over $10
  • Play "sparkle" for cards over $50
  • Play the default sound for cards below the threshold

Add, edit, or remove triggers in Settings → Sound settings.

Export Template Selection

When exporting the Queue to CSV, you can choose an export template. Templates define which columns appear and in what order. Select your preferred template in Settings so it is used by default for exports.

Sign In / Sign Out

Manage your SortSwift account in the app:

  • Sign In: Enter your SortSwift email and password to access cloud sync, push to staging, buylist orders, and other account features
  • Sign Out: Disconnect your account. Local data (collections, queue) remains on the device

Staff Authentication

If your store uses staff accounts, you may need to complete staff authentication after signing in. This ensures the app is being used by an authorized user with the correct permissions for inventory, buylist, and other store features.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do settings sync across devices?

When signed in, some settings may sync with your SortSwift account. Check the app for which settings are synced. Local-only settings are stored in IndexedDB on each device.

Why don't I hear scan sounds?

Ensure sounds are enabled in Settings and that your device volume is up. Some browsers require user interaction before playing audio—tap the screen first if needed. Also check that your device is not in silent mode.

Where do I get export templates?

Export templates may be provided by your SortSwift account or created in the main SortSwift dashboard. Link your mobile app to your account and sync to access account templates.
