Configure Fujitsu PaperStream-compatible scanners for use with Simple Sifter.
Install PaperStream IP (TWAIN) Driver
- Download the PaperStream IP (TWAIN) driver from Fujitsu for your scanner model.
- Install the driver on the workstation running Simple Sifter.
- Connect the Fujitsu scanner and verify it is detected by Windows.
Configure SANE Backend
Simple Sifter uses the SANE (Scanner Access Now Easy) backend to communicate with the scanner. After installing the PaperStream driver:
- Ensure the SANE backend is configured to detect your Fujitsu scanner.
- On Linux, you may need to add the Fujitsu SANE backend or configure the appropriate driver.
- Run a test scan from Simple Sifter to confirm the scanner is detected.
Scanner Crop Presets
Crop presets define how the card area is extracted from the scan. Available presets:
- horizontal-off - Crop area 59x158x65mm
- horizontal-on - Alternative horizontal crop
- vertical-off - Vertical orientation crop
- vertical-on - Alternative vertical crop
Select the preset that best matches your card orientation and scanner feed.
Scan Source
Configure the scan source in Simple Sifter settings:
- ADF Front - Scan from the Automatic Document Feeder (front)
- ADF Back - Scan from the ADF (back)
Choose the source that matches how you feed cards into the scanner.
Simple Sifter Settings
In Simple Sifter, configure the following for your PaperStream scanner:
- DPI - Set resolution (e.g. 300 DPI)
- Brightness - Adjust for your lighting (0-100)
- Mode - Color or grayscale
- Crop preset - Select the appropriate crop preset
Keep card stacks under 80 cards to avoid jams. Clean the roller regularly to maintain consistent feed and image quality.
