Common issues and solutions for live camera scanning, including camera access, recognition problems, and performance issues.
Camera Access Issues
Camera Not Detected
- Check that your webcam is properly connected
- Try unplugging and reconnecting the camera
- Restart your browser
- Check if other applications are using the camera
- Update your camera drivers
- Try a different USB port
Permission Denied
- Click "Allow" when browser asks for camera permission
- Check browser settings to ensure camera access is enabled
- Clear browser cache and cookies, then try again
- Check system privacy settings (Windows/Mac) to allow browser camera access
- Try a different browser to rule out browser-specific issues
Recognition Problems
Cards Not Being Recognized
- Ensure card is fully visible in the camera frame
- Improve lighting conditions - use bright, even lighting
- Hold card steady and avoid motion blur
- Check focus - adjust camera focus if possible
- Ensure card surface is clean and not reflective
- Try different angles to reduce glare
- Verify your camera resolution is set to at least 720p
Wrong Cards Identified
- Use the edit function to manually select the correct card
- Ensure the entire card is visible in the frame
- Improve image quality by adjusting lighting
- Scan cards one at a time for best accuracy
- Clean the card surface if it's damaged or worn
Performance Issues
Slow Scanning Speed
- Close unnecessary browser tabs and applications
- Clear browser cache
- Reduce camera resolution if system is struggling
- Update your browser to the latest version
- Check internet connection speed
- Try using a wired connection instead of WiFi
Camera Feed Lagging
- Lower camera resolution in settings
- Close other applications using system resources
- Update camera drivers
- Try a different USB port (preferably USB 3.0)
- Restart your computer if lag persists

- Chrome: Best performance and compatibility (recommended)
- Edge: Good performance on Windows systems
- Firefox: Supported but may have slower recognition speeds
- Safari: Supported on Mac, may require additional permissions
Image Quality Tips
- Lighting: Use bright, diffused lighting without direct shadows
- Background: Use a plain, contrasting background (dark surface for light cards)
- Position: Hold card flat and parallel to the camera
- Distance: Keep card 6-12 inches from the camera
- Focus: Ensure card text is sharp and readable
- Cleanliness: Keep camera lens clean
