Cash — Physical cash with amount tendered and automatic change calculation
Card — Credit/debit via Stripe Terminal SDK (tap, insert, swipe)
E-Transfer — Mark payment as e-transfer (tracked but not processed through the system)
Store Credit — Deduct from the customer's store credit balance (synced with Shopify)
Gift Card — Apply gift card value to the order
Store Use — Internal use deduction for store purchases
Split Payments — Combine multiple methods in a single transaction

Split Payments

When a customer pays with more than one method (e.g., $20 cash + $30 card), use split payments. Add each payment method in sequence until the total is fully covered. The system tracks the amount applied per method for till reconciliation and reporting.

Overpayments are handled automatically. If the customer gives more cash than owed, the system calculates change. See Overpayment Handling for details.

Tips

Store credit requires the customer to be identified (email/customer record). Tax-exempt status can be toggled per customer before checkout. All payment methods are reflected in end-of-day reports and till close variance tracking.
