Cash Payments
Process physical cash payments with automatic change calculation. Enter the amount tendered; the system computes and displays the change due.
Processing a Cash Payment
- At checkout, select Cash as the payment method
- Enter the amount received from the customer
- The system calculates change: Change = Amount Tendered − Order Total
- Change due is displayed clearly for the cashier
- Complete the transaction; cash is recorded in the till
Overpayment and Change
If the customer pays more than the order total, the POS auto-calculates change. For example, if the total is $47.50 and the customer gives $50.00, the system shows $2.50 change due. This is tracked for variance when closing the till.
Hardware Integration
When a thermal receipt printer (via QZ Tray) is connected, the cash drawer can open automatically on cash payment. Cash transactions are included in end-of-day reports and till close variance tracking.
