Accessing the Sales Screen

The main sales and checkout experience lives at pos.sortswift.com/sales/sales-unified. From here you can search products, add items to cart, apply discounts, and complete transactions using any supported payment method.

You can also reach the sales screen from the POS dashboard (pos.sortswift.com) via the navigation. The dashboard shows today's metrics, active carts, and quick shortcuts.

Till Requirement

Before processing sales, you must have an active till opened. The multi-till system tracks cash, payment methods, and staff accountability. See Multi-Till documentation for opening a till at the start of your shift.

Inventory and Integrations

Verify that your inventory is synced and products are available for sale. Stock quantities are deducted using FIFO (first-in, first-out) when you complete a sale. If you use Shopify integration, ensure the connection is active so orders sync correctly.

Product search respects variant options (condition, language, printing type) and sorts results by priority so the most relevant stock appears first.

Your First Sale

To complete your first sale:

1. Navigate to Sales (sales-unified)
2. Open a till if you haven't already
3. Search for a product and add it to the cart
4. Add discounts if needed (item-level or cart-level)
5. Apply tax-exempt status for the customer if applicable
6. Proceed to checkout and choose a payment method (cash, card, store credit, e-transfer, etc.)
7. Complete the payment and optionally print a receipt
