CSV Import

Bulk-add items to your buylist cart by uploading a CSV file. Ideal for large collections or lists exported from deck builders, spreadsheets, or scanning tools.

Where CSV Import is Available

CSV import is available in the customer buylist portal. From the cart or product view, customers can upload a CSV file to add multiple items at once. Each row becomes a cart line (or is merged with existing lines for the same variant).

CSV Format Requirements

The CSV should include columns that allow the system to identify the product and variant. Common formats include:

  • Product Identification: Product name, set/code, card number, or TCGPlayer product ID
  • Variant: Condition (NM, LP, MP, HP, DM), printing (Normal, Foil, etc.), language (EN, JP, etc.)
  • Quantity: Number of copies

Exact column names and order may vary. The import process matches rows to products in the catalog. Unmatched or ambiguous rows may be skipped or flagged for review.

Product Matching

Rows in the CSV are matched to SortSwift products. Matching typically uses product name + set, or TCGPlayer product ID when available. Condition, printing, and language are parsed from the row or defaulted (e.g., NM, Normal, EN).

If a product is not found or not in your store's catalog, that row may be skipped. Customers should ensure their list uses names/identifiers that match your inventory or product database.

Import Workflow

  1. Customer prepares a CSV with product and variant data
  2. Clicks "Import CSV" or equivalent in the buylist portal
  3. Selects and uploads the file
  4. System parses and matches rows; adds matched items to cart
  5. Customer reviews cart, adjusts quantities or payment types if needed
  6. Completes customer info and submits order as usual

Common CSV Sources

  • Deck Builders: Export from Moxfield, Archidekt, TCGPlayer, etc.
  • SortSwift Scanning: Export from scanning results (file upload, live camera, Simple Sifter)
  • Spreadsheets: Manually built lists in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Other Buylists: Exports from other stores (column mapping may be needed)
