Analyze market trends, view price history, and track data coverage across your inventory.
Getting Started
Start analyzing price trends:
- Navigate to /advanced-tools/price-history-trends
- Select a time period (month/year or custom date range)
- Choose a view: Overview, Product, Search, or Coverage
- Analyze market trends and price movements
- View individual product price histories
Time Period Selection
Filter data by time period:
- Month/Year: Select specific month and year (e.g., January 2024)
- Custom Range: Set start date and end date for custom periods
- Required: Must select time period before data loads
- Auto-Refresh: Data refreshes when period changes
- Validation: End date must be after start date
Market Overview
High-level market analytics:
- Top Products: Products with highest average prices
- Price Statistics: Average, min, max prices for period
- Product List: Ranked list with price metrics
- Click to View: Click product to see detailed trend analysis
- Limit Control: Adjust number of products shown (default: 20)
- Visualizations: Charts and graphs showing price distributions
Product Trends
Detailed price history for individual products:
- Product Selection: Select from overview or search results
- Price Chart: Line chart showing price over time
- Daily Data Points: Each day in period shown as data point
- Price Metrics: Average, min, max, first, last prices
- Trend Indicators: Visual indicators for price direction
- Back Navigation: Return to previous view (overview/search)
- Product Info: Displays product name, set, card number
Product Search
Search and filter products with trends:
- Search Field: Type product name (2+ characters triggers search)
- Auto-Search: Searches automatically after 500ms delay
- Price Filters: Filter by min/max price range
- Sort Options: Sort by average price, name, or other metrics
- Pagination: Navigate through search results (default: 50 per page)
- Click to View: Click any product to see detailed trends
- Results Display: Shows product name, set, average price, trend
Data Coverage
Understand data availability:
- Coverage Statistics: Number of products with price data
- Time Periods: Available data ranges
- Gaps: Identifies periods with missing data
- Data Quality: Shows completeness of price history
- Usage Stats: How many products tracked over time
Filtering & Sorting
Refine your analysis:
- Sort By: Average price (ascending/descending), name
- Price Range: Min and max price filters
- Limit Results: Control number of results displayed
- Real-Time: Filters apply immediately
- Combined Filters: Multiple filters work together
View Switching
Navigate between different views:
- Tab Navigation: Switch between Overview, Product, Search, Coverage
- State Preservation: Previous view remembered when navigating
- Data Caching: View data cached to avoid re-fetching
- Back Button: Return to previous view from product detail
- Smooth Transitions: Loading states shown during view changes
Tip: Price history data is collected continuously from TCGPlayer and other sources. Use trends to identify price patterns, seasonal fluctuations, and make informed purchasing decisions.
