Getting Started

Access staff accounts management, understand permissions system, and navigate the interface.


To access Staff Accounts:

  1. Navigate to /integrations/staffaccounts in your SortSwift account
  2. The page loads with two tabs: "Staff Accounts" and "Store Config"
  3. Default tab is "Staff Accounts" showing existing staff accounts
  4. Click "Store Config" tab to configure POS store settings
  5. Staff accounts are loaded automatically when the page opens

What are Staff Accounts?


Staff Accounts allow you to create controlled access for employees to use your POS system:

  • Limited Access: Staff members can only access features based on their assigned permissions
  • Separate Credentials: Each staff member has their own username and password
  • Permission-Based: Five permission types: dashboard, sales, orders, customer, and reports
  • POS Integration: Staff accounts are specifically designed for POS system access
  • Secure Login: Staff members sign in at /auth/staff-sign-in

Interface Overview


The Staff Accounts interface consists of:

  • Tab Navigation: Switch between Staff Accounts and Store Config tabs
  • Staff List Table: Displays all existing staff accounts with username, permissions, and actions
  • Register Form: Create new staff accounts with username, password, and permissions
  • Edit Dialog: Modify existing staff permissions (username cannot be changed)
  • Delete Dialog: Confirm permanent deletion of staff accounts
  • Action Buttons: Edit and Delete icons for each staff account in the table

Available Permissions


Staff accounts can be assigned the following permissions:

  • Dashboard: Access to the main POS dashboard
  • Sales: Ability to process sales transactions
  • Orders: Access to order management and viewing
  • Customer: Customer management and information access
  • Reports: View sales reports and analytics

Basic Workflow


Typical workflow for managing staff accounts:

  1. View existing staff accounts in the table
  2. Create new staff accounts using the registration form
  3. Edit permissions as needed using the edit dialog
  4. Delete staff accounts when employees leave (permanent action)
  5. Configure store settings in the Store Config tab
