Undo imports, reverse deductions, and restore previous inventory states.
Undo Overview
The undo feature allows you to reverse certain inventory operations:
- Reversible Operations: Not all operations can be undone - only specific types
- Audit Trail: All undo operations create new log entries for tracking
- Safety Feature: Prevents accidental permanent loss of inventory data
- Immediate Effect: Undo operations take effect immediately upon confirmation
- Quantity Restoration: Reverses quantity changes back to previous state
Undoable Operations
The following operations can typically be undone:
- Undo Import: Reverse inventory additions from CSV imports
- Undo Deduction: Reverse inventory deductions (restores quantity)
- Undo Adjustment: Reverse manual quantity adjustments
- Verification: System checks if operation can be undone before showing undo button
- Undo Indicator: Undo button appears on log entries where undo is possible
Undo Process
How to undo an operation:
- Navigate to the Adjustment History page
- Find the log entry you want to undo (use filters if needed)
- Look for the undo button in the log entry's action column
- Click the undo button
- Confirm the undo operation in the confirmation dialog
- The operation is reversed and a new log entry is created
- Refresh the page to see updated inventory quantities
Undoing Imports
Reverse CSV import operations:
- Quantity Reduction: Reduces inventory quantities by the amount that was imported
- Item Removal: If import added new items, undo may remove them completely
- Batch Undo: Undoing an import affects all items imported in that batch
- Verification: System verifies items still exist before undoing
- Log Entry: Creates "Undo Import" log entry with cause tracking
Undoing Deductions
Reverse inventory deductions (sales, removals, etc.):
- Quantity Restoration: Restores the deducted quantity back to inventory
- Item Recovery: Recovers items that were sold or removed
- Order Context: Works for deductions from orders (Shopify, eBay, POS, etc.)
- Manual Deductions: Can also undo manually created deduction logs
- Log Entry: Creates "Undo Deduction" log entry for audit trail
- Use Case: Useful for order cancellations or returns
Undoing Adjustments
Reverse manual quantity adjustments:
- Quantity Reversal: Reverses the adjustment quantity back to original
- Positive Adjustments: Undoing a positive adjustment reduces quantity
- Negative Adjustments: Undoing a negative adjustment increases quantity
- Correction Tool: Useful for fixing accidental incorrect adjustments
- Log Entry: Creates new adjustment log with opposite quantity
Important Considerations
Things to keep in mind when undoing operations:
- Irreversible: Once undone, you may not be able to undo the undo (depends on operation)
- Order Impact: Undoing deductions from orders may affect order fulfillment status
- Inventory Sync: Undo operations may affect synced inventory on platforms (Shopify, eBay, etc.)
- Timing: It's best to undo operations soon after they occur, before downstream effects
- Verification: Always verify the undo had the intended effect
- Audit Trail: All undos are logged for complete audit history
Warning: Undoing operations can affect inventory quantities and order fulfillment. Always verify the impact before confirming an undo, especially for operations related to active orders or synced platforms.
